Stove goes into shut down

  • I have a Pelpro Bayview, it had a acutron 2 control board that recently went crazy, I’ve replaced it with the recommended acutron 4 control board, now when starting the stove starts up fine, feeds pellets fine, ignites fine burns for a short stretch (5-10) minutes then goes into shut down mode. The Auger light flashes rapidly. I’ve checked auger, everything is fine. I never seen the auger light flash rapidly before on the old board. Is this a code for what’s wrong? What should I be checking?

  • Hello,
Yes I worked on such a stove and after I replaced the control panel, I had to replace the auger motor and all the snap discs. So I would replace the Hi Limit, the Low Limit, the convection fan snap disc, and vacuum switch and go from there. Those switches are safety switches that will put the stove in shutdown mode when there is something else wrong with the stove, but if the switches themselves are broken or defective, they will also place the stove in shutdown mode.
