E2 error when it's lighting (repost w an acc)

Jan 9, 2023 - 1:26 PM

  • Was working fine until an auger jam, which I fixed and vacuumed out (also cleaned the stove entirely. Was still showing e2, I'm not usually the person who runs it my dad's out on vacation for another two weeks so I'm trying my best to figure out the issue. Ended up factory resetting it. It drops pellets, the auger is turning, and it's starting a fire. But it just keeps dying. There doesn't seem to be enough pellets in the pot, my dad had said to set the pellets per hr to 1.75 last night, but I woke up this morning to it off, empty chamber pot. I've made sure all the little doors are closed except for the draft, which I have set for half exactly like my dad said. I think it has something to do with the PPH, I've changed it up to 2lbs/pph, but I have to go to work now, I'm still kinda expecting it to be dead when I return. If the PPH isn't the issue I'm hoping for some more ideas. I've also cleaned out what I could for the exhaust, which I know is a 1-2 error not just a 2 on its own.
    It's an Ashley 1406

Hoping I'll get a response now that it's from an account

  • Check the vacuum switch and check the vacuum hose to make sure it is not clogged.

  • I vacuumed out the tube from the inside and also unplugged the tube from the vacuum itself and blew into it (air coming out the hollow tube on the inside of the fire chamber). Unfortunately it's still doing it. However, I have noticed that the draft fan blinks once or twice every 5-8 seconds. I brushed the vents with a tooth brush and vacuum to make sure there's not some gunk creating airflow. I also brushed the threading on the glass door to make sure that's sealed, I even applied some tape to the notch the door hooks into to try and get it to close more. Didn't help. My dad suggested trying to jump the vacuum switch and use a paper clip between the two uh.. the metal things the wires click onto. Tried that, but it only made the draft fan blinks constantly as if the door were open.
Sorry for making two posts and thank you for the response

  • Could it be that it's clogged within the vacuum itself?

  • If you take the two wires off the vacuum switch and connect them together, that bypasses the whole vacuum circuit so if the problem persists then it is something else.

  • I think I figured it out, it was when I changed the pounds of pellets per hour. When I had changed it to 1lb, i had changed both the min and max setting, I thought there was only one setting for the pounds per hour. I figured out how to change the min setting and brought it up to 2 and it's been running for a bit now (: the draft fan is still blinking intermittently (5-8 seconds), but it's been running for a out an hour now compared to the 30 min it was before
